FOR LOVE AND LEMONS LACE
My relationship with the Cholla cacti is a tempestuous one. One moment I’m twirling around them in a romantic-type way feeling totes one with nature and the next I’m pleading my hysterically laughing friends to help remove their painful spikes from my bum. But no matter how many prickly encounters I may have had with this favorite plant of mine (a few already and definitely counting) I am still in absolute awe of their beauty.That’s the desert for you. It’s full of tough love - you know, the kind that leaves you a better person than you were before.The kind that, after roughing you up a bit, rewards you with the most brilliant sunset you’ve ever seen, and a kind of stillness that makes your heart glow.
And that’s enough waxing poetic for a Monday - but at the same time, a great reminder that no matter how tough the week goes, there’s a high chance you’re going to come out a better person for it!
