BACKSTAGE AT NICHOLAS K WITH STILA COSMETICS

At certain points in a person's life, certain things might resonate a little more strongly, given specific circumstances. Nicholas K kind of did that for me this year. The entire show had a desert nomad feel to it that reminded me so much of my last year and a half of desert dwelling. But what hit me the hardest were the stunning colors that easily reflected the desert landscape I've fallen so deeply in love with.

Almost in juxtaposition, but not really, was the makeup - sleek, precise, and full-coverage, playing with some of my favorite things. For instance, bronzer used not as a contouring device (as it has somewhat sadly been more and more relegated to) but rather as a gorgeous flush of color, creamy biscotti-tinted lips in a color that I'm already going mad for, but won't be available still '17 (why, makeup gods, WHY?!?), and eyes rimmed with a high-metallic foil - a look dubbed the 'Mirage' that I'm already trying to recreate.

Also seen on the Nicholas K runway were variations of what might be the hottest hair trend for fall, locks washed in a rose-gold hue, aka, 'Desert Rose' hair. Something I'm already obsessed with and will probably talk myself into and out of countless times in the months to come.

And if the hair and smattering of head-to-toe rosegold ensembles have gotten you as obsessed with this color as I am, make sure to scroll right in the makeup carousal a few photos down, because Stila's rosegold-colored foil shadow has got me feeling all kinds of ways and suddenly, I need high-shine 'Desert Rose' lids, like stat. The perfect holiday lewk, no?

xx,

Tienlyn
