BANDAGE DRESSES AND THE NUDE DRESS TREND

skingraft.jpg

When Hervé Léger sent those very first bandage dresses down the runway, the result was decades of celebrities and It girls wearing them to death, saturating red carpets, paparazzi snaps and nightclubs with the original body-con. From the first moment I learned about them, I was thoroughly intrigued. Here were dresses that were made from material previously only used for foundation garments and shapewear, being worn as proper pieces of clothing (if there's one way to my fashion heart, it's the notion of wearing anything underwear-related in public.)

And while the early 2000's saw bandage dresses worn to death, fully exhausting the fashion crowd, we're now at a point where these OG body-cons are feeling fresh once again (plus, to be honest, I never got over how extraordinarily flattering these dresses can be). Infuse a nude tone to give the 'bandage' element a (figuratively) literal twist, and violá! Reborn, and re-loved.

P.S. changing a few things around, scroll to the very end for outfit links.
