CAMEL CUT-OUTS

I don't know when my obsession with this color began, but camel has quickly become one of my top three favorite colors. I love that it's still essentially a non color, but lighter and fresher, and goes with nearly anything. Now that it's warm, I've been loving wearing this dress both casually and formally - the cut-outs show just enough, yet it's still somehow (slightly) demure.

Something I really like to do is double up on a theme. So for instance, with this look, I've done it with cut-outs and with stretched triangles. I have cut-outs on the dress (ie negative space), and also negative space in my jewelry in both the bracelet and the earrings. As well, my earrings are stretched triangles with a stone, as is my necklace. While this may seem like it could end up too matchy matchy, by mixing up metals and weight (statement and fine jewelry), it finds a level of dimension that makes it all just blend together.

I'm also looking forward to wearing this dress layered over some kind of top when it cools down - a turtleneck, a button up, or even a plain tee. But that's a long long ways off, and in the meantime, I'm more than happy wearing it as is.

Happy almost weekend!!!

xx,

Tienlyn
