#MisfitPreferred: Heretic Parfum

THE BACKSTORY:

We came across Heretic Parfum while helping a beauty editor friend of ours on a gift guide and were intrigued when learning about the ethos of the brand. It didn’t hurt that we had already personally been looking for something to replace all the synthetic perfumes growing stale on our dressing table. Once we got a chance to actually experience the scents, we became fangirls for life.

WHAT IT IS:

Hand-crafted fragrances created from natural essential oils, concretes and absolutes, blended in organic, non-GMO grape and sugarcane alcohols. In other words, fragrance that is clean AF. Which in this day in age, is a radical act within the fragrance industry.

WHY WE LOVE IT: First of all, what’s not to love? From the name Heretic (aka anti conformist, so in line with the Thoughtful Misfit ethos), to the minimalist packaging, to the slick fragrance names, everything at face value has us totally gaga. But the two main reasons we love this brand so much are that it’s a clean line and the scents just smell so damn good. While clean beauty is always preferred over here, after donning the title ‘mom,’ clean beauty has become more of a priority than ever. And after learning about how fragrance ingredients can be considered ‘trade secrets’ and therefore avoid any and all FDA regulation - and that ingredients within perfumes are serious hormone disruptors (thereby being linked to cancer), all our previous scents have gone out the proverbial window.

But back to the fun stuff. The scents are sophisticated, unique, and has all our favorites mixed in there - from palo santo to bergamot to tuberose. They’ve even got some unique notes in the mix such as pink pepper and mate tea.

THOUGHTFUL MISFIT TIP:

Because the scents are so unique, we highly recommend picking up a sampler (the 4 Piece Discovery Set should do it) before committing to just one. You get to pick which scents you’d like to try and the bottles aren’t tiny so you really get to test them out and see how they blend with your whole vibe.
