Our Spring Cleaning Action Checklist

Spring is an excellent time to harness the new energy and apply it to your home. But aside from the traditional spring cleaning, it’s also a good opportunity to make a spring house checklist of actions you can employ to prepare your home for the warmer months ahead.

These housekeeping techniques will help you stay organized and clear the clutter from your home, room by room, or device by device. Whether you have five minutes or a whole weekend to refresh your home, here’s what makes our spring house checklist every year.

Tackle The Doormats

Did you realize how much dust can gather on a doormat in only a week? Using two mats is one method we like keep dirt where it belongs. Have one mat outside the door and one inside and as they get dirty, wash them with a hose and let them dry naturally before reinstalling them. We love this trick because it minimizes how much deep cleaning we have to do on the floors year long.

Blinds And Windows

If you want natural light to enter and brighten up your home, make sure the windows are clean. Our favorite trick is to wait for a rainy or gloomy day and begin by cleaning the sides that don't get direct sunlight using a glass cleaner and an all-purpose microfiber cloth. Before dusting, close the blinds and shades. On fabric-covered shades, use a vacuum cleaner. Dust off all of the blinds to remove debris from the nooks and crannies. You might be shocked to see the color difference between clean and dirty blinds.

Look At The Carpets

If you thought doormats could collect dust, wait until you see the carpets. It is not as simple to clean your carpets. Hot water extraction is a difficult cleaning task. Make cleaning easier by using a mobile carpet cleaner with a spinning brush or by spraying baking soda or another deodorizer on the carpet around the scent. Using a gentle brush, apply the baking powder to your carpet. Allow it to sit for 15-30 minutes before vacuuming with a clean cloth or a dirt cup.

Don’t Forget Pest Control

We have no idea how many creatures and insects are hidden in our cracks and crevices. If you observe one or two cockroaches running about, definitely contact a professional to get your home taken care of. You can look up pest control to find reputable providers with referrals and recommendations. Make certain that you are not present in the house while it is being fumigated - but also, do a little extra research to find non-toxic options, especially if there are kids and pets around as they tend to be more sensitive to irritants and toxins.

Look At The Countertops

Use granite polish to remove stains and restore the shine to your kitchen surfaces. Use a professional granite cleaner for daily cleanings to protect the integrity of your tiles. The gentle mixture cuts grease and removes surface stains while avoiding the harmful effects of vinegar or ammonia. And unlike soap scum, it does not leave an unpleasant film behind.

Declutter The Home

By decluttering the home, we create a space that minimizes stress and promotes wellness. Everyone wants to reduce stress in their life since stress is unpleasant and can lead to health problems like heart disease. Space also improves your sense of well-being. You probably have clutter in your home because you've run out of storage space, but it's also possible that you have a lot of products you don't need — things you bought but no longer use!

Stick To Routines

If the home is cluttered, chances are we don't think about our habits very often. Routines influence where clutter accumulates, so bringing more consciousness to how we move around the house is in itself a way to care for our homes and our lives. Cups, glasses, and dinner plates that pile on the coffee table or in the dishwasher are an illustration of a routine. But adding a 5 minute pick-up routine once a day will make a huge difference in the long run.

Re-Decorate

According to home design experts, people get bored with their home's decoration every three to five years, so don't feel terrible if you've just re-decorated but want to make some modifications. You’re not alone! With some innovative ideas, we can reclaim control of your living environment. Painting rooms a seasonal color or one that suits a present mood is one of the simplest and most uncomplicated methods to find new inspiration in your house - and it’s easy to switch up when you change your mind. Some people enjoy painting artsy walls in bright or pastel colors.

Look At The Pots And Pans

To begin cleaning a pot or pan, add some water and dish soap while on low on the stovetop. Add the solution to the burnt-on debris and allow it to soften on the heat. Remove any residual fragments with a scouring sponge or pad. Vinegar and even ketchup can be used to remove tarnish from copper pots and pans! To cure stubborn places, mix a little red sauce into your nail paint and add some salt.

Look At The Hardwood Floors

When it comes to your hardwood flooring you will probably already know that they can become a little dull over time and they tend to harbor dust. Hoover your hardwood flooring once a week, mop them and give them a protective coating if they need it. You can then spot clean your floors without needing to deep clean them too often.

It is important to give your house that deep rub down every once in a while. Use this list to help you spot everything that you might have missed during spring cleaning. Do you have any other tips? Please share them in the comments below.
