TRAVEL DIARY: PAIA

Because we go to Maui quite regularly, we've come to have some definite favorite things to do. One of my absolute favorite things is going to Paia, a little boutique feeling beach down filled with incredible food and coffee spots, and pretty boutiques filled with well curated must-haves (think The Jetset Diaries, Beach Bunny, Mother Denim, etc), and local jewels and goods.

For this travel diary, I thought I'd give you a little rundown of what I do on a typical visit to Paia. Reach on to see some of my favorite must-stops and traditions!

Ho'okipa Beach Park is my favorite beach for people watching - windsurfer and surfer watching in particular, as it's actually considered the windsurfing capitol of the world. Some of the best of the best come here to surf and watching them ride the waves is pretty spectacular.

There's nothing like a refreshing drink on a hot day at the beach, and at Ho'okipa Beach Park, you can order a made-on-the-spot delicious smoothie, juice or coffee just off the beach to cool you down.

The Paia Stupa at the Maui Dharma Center is actually the first stop I make when we go to Paia. I love walking around the Mani Prayer Wheel. A few rounds around the wheel, and I'm immediately centered and feel at peace.

We always stop by Honolulu Coffee for a cuppa - their farm-to-cup coffee is so rich and tasty that I often end up coming home with a bag or two in my suitcase!

After a quick bite at either Café Des Amis (amazing Greek and Indian food, excellent for light bites and an adorable patio) or Maka by Mana (amazing amazing amazing raw food, also incredible juices and tonics) and walk through the boutiques and town, we usually hop in the car and head over to Makawao - another small town just a short while away. But more on that later on! In the meantime, hope you have an amazing start to your week!

xx,
